MY SUPERB HUBBY

OK I know I am a horrible scrapbooker there are no pictures and no proof.....other than my word...so here goes...the top two reasons my hubby is superb.

1. my birthday was in January and I usually don't expect much out of him because it is Accounting busy season and he is incredibly busy...we (jackson and I) just enjoy the time we get to spend with him for these three months. I know it is aweful...but unfortunately he gave me plenty of warning before we got married so I can't complain. Not only did he take and evening off to have friends over to play the Wii...but he bought me a present. I got a Bread knife. But not just any bread knife it is part of a tupperware set that is amazing and very expensive...I am sure he got a deal...he has an in with his mom. but still he thought ahead and brought me a present.

#2. he knew he was going to be gone for V-day. SO he once again planned ahead...surprised me by telling me saturday that he had his mom and sister to watch Jackson and we had reservations at the LaSalle Grill in South bend for dinner. It was an amazing dinner...I had a wedge salad, oso bucco (an italian dish) with a glass of my fav wine.and blueberry, mango and rasberry sorbet with a glass of the world's best coffee... and I recommend all of it HIGHLY. if you can get past eating baby cow...it is delish. so much flavor...I could go on and on. It was an expensive restarant and it was an amazing surprise but the best part of the night was the time I got to spend with my husband and the conversation we got to have about normal couple stuff. SOmetimes in the midst of all of the doctor visits, calls, and scheduling...we forget that we are a normal couple almost three years married and that we are allowed to talk about something other than our son. I love you babe....you are the world's bestest hubby of all time. Happy Valentine's day.

ok I found a pic that shows him being an amazing dad. they are too cute.

Happy Half Birthday Jackson!!!

CAN YOU BELIEVE HE IS 6 MONTHS OLD!!!

A Half of a year has gone by since the chaos of his birth.

WOW!!! it seems like just yesterday we were all sitting at his bedside in the nicu at Riley. celebrating all the good news we could get our hands on and holding each other through all of the not so good news that seemed to come everyday. But today we celebrate the beautiful and amazingly strong little man we have right now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY little guy.

PS....most of you probably could have taken a picture like this at about 3 months old...but you know he is a little guy.

Wonderful trips, sickness and Trouble in the Schrock household

papa vince's chair is a little huge.

we had a wonderful trip to Minnesota.

had an amazing time catching up with Family and friends.

I have to give props to Jackson he truely is an amazing traveler. At least at the present time. He only had brief periods of craziness on the way there and then on the way back...about a half hour worth. In the grand scheme of a 9 1/2 hour trip, I will take the half hour.

then we got home on Sunday and boy wasn't dad excited to see his little man. I am pretty sure he was excited to see me, too. But the excitement came out with his little boy. Unfortunately both Adrian and I were sick and we are just getting over it now. For me it has been almost two weeks. Luckily, Jackson is remaining healthy. I don't know how the little guy does it, but he is so resilent.

So now to the trouble. We went to Riley when we got back from MN. WE met with Jackson's surgeon who was very happy with us being on track for Surgery the end of March. We don't know the exact date yet but we do know we are on track. Then we met with his kidney doc and they were happy with everything but his weight gain. So the dietician decided to start on cereal. Well, here is the trouble. Jackson SCREAMS.....let me say again, Screams through the entire three bites of cereal we get through before we gag and then thrash back and forth until mom gives us. HELP>>>>HELP>>>>>HELP!!! Is this normal or is this just another way for my kid to be different? All suggestions welcome.

the big 3-0, goals, and a road trip......

Well it happened...I turned the big 3-0!!! and is is not that bad, really.

Sunday was my birthday. I have to say it was great.
Saturday night we had people over to play our brother in law's WI.. they took Jackson and we were on our own. It was a blast. I really don't think Adrian and I have laughed so hard or had so much fun in a long time. Thanks to Gretchen, Luke, Jason and Alice and Balls humor. Then on Sunday we went to Church and afterwards went to lunch at Adrian's parents house for January birthday dinner.
See with in a month we celebrate 5 birthday's in our family. Crazy huh? I have to give props to my hubbie to he remembered my birthday and got me a gift. This is remarkable for an accountant during busy season. So hats off to him!!!!

I have to say I have made a goal for 2008...a 3-0 resolution. I am going to loose this crazy baby weight. I started on Monday morning and I have to say it is tough but it is doable. It gives me motivation to see my friends that have lost 60 -80 pounds in 8 months. Lets just say thinking about that makes me wish it could happen over night.

Jackson and I are also heading to Minnesota this weekend. So I have to get packin' so we will see you all when we get back...and hopefully see some of you in Minnesota. We will leave you with this video of Jackson....as you can see it cracked us all up.

hope this works it is the first time I have tried this.

What look should we go with

Well today was a good but sad day. It started off with my babies butthole lookin' a little funny...so I was a little paranoid to stick the rod up there. But we did it. hopefully the report I get from the doc is good and I was right to continue.

then I went to work...to talk to my boss about the outlook for the next year with Jackson's surgeries and health. We agreed on possibly coming back one day a week to run some groups and to continue working from home occassionally. But that will be at least a day of adult conversation. We will see. It was sad to turn everything in and clean out my desk..as they hired someone to fill my position. I also informed my boss that the outlook for surgeries pretty much took up the whole new year. there is one about every three to four months. Which ends them next November if nothing happens with his kidney between now and then. it was a happy and yet very sad meeting..

then we came home for our first steps appointment and jackson is such a trooper that he got an amazing report on his three month review.. He is actually grasping like most 6 month olds...he is sitting up like he is suppose to by 5 months. He is also reaching and bringing things to his mouth and switching hands. THis is wonderful....it makes mom and dad happy that he is up to his age...actually when you adjust it he is ahead of the game....Go Jackson!!!!!

Now I am getting ready to cook dinner. Momma's homemade Chipotle burritos. Adrian and I love chipotle...so one night we decided to replicate them...in our own way...not bad I must say. They are a little different each time but delish. We are getting are Chef on.

WE also have been tryin' out some looks for jackson and so far this is the one we are going for...it kinda goes with his receating hair line..

the old man look

the gangster stocking cap look

or.....we could just let it all hang out...check out that CHUBB!!!

your choice let us know which one you would go with...

serenade from dad

ok so I am sitting here thinking it might be time to update the ol' blog...and as I begin to type I hear my hubbie singing "hail purdue" to Jackson. this is his way to calm him down I guess. Shocking...it didn't work. It was a little cute though. So here are some new pics of the babe. We are headed to indy tomorrow. We see his kidney specialist and his surgeon and a new appointment first time with his nuerologist. Hopefully we get to start weaning him from the seizure meds.

Have a great day!!! We will talk again when we return.

Look at me!!!

We started out playtime by eating dad's jeans. We didn't quite understand we were reaching for real toys. By we will take what we can get. He grabbed something right? :)

Then we got this...a big SMILE. How cute is our baby. I know, I know he has male patterned baldness...but come on, in his case it Will grow back and it just adds to the cuteness.

a little tummy time followed...we figured he was in a good mood and it was almost time for bed so lets where him out. Sounds good. He loves his mirror. I think he has a little case of the I'm adorables. We will stop telling him so when he comes to me to tell me how cute he is. Until then...I don't think we have to worry.
Look at me.................................I can sit all on my own. So it doesn't last very long. only a few minutes but it is a start.
I found this cool new Scan disk port in my computer. So that along with my new Cannon Digital camera has made taking pics of little Jackson so much more fun. We are now working on reaching and sitting up. It is amazing how strong this little guy is. I can't believe it. It has been a real miracle to see how fast he has healed from his infection and to watch his incision just heal like magic. It has to be God. Baby's are so amazing. we have an appointment on thursday in indy...so we will know more about the next surgery then. For now were beat. It is time for bed.

Til next time.....
